Parent Requirements: |
Married couples, single men and women over 25 years of age can adopt from Estonia. There are no stated upper age limits; no other restrictions apply. At least one parent must has US citizenship. |
| Available Children: | Estonia allows adoption of generally healthy infants thru older school age children to teenagers. Special needs children and sibling groups are also available. Program allows adoptions of unrelated children. | |
| Adoption Timetable: | The total process from dossier submission until the time adoptive parents travel to bring the child home averages 4-10 months, depending on the region. | |
| Method of Referral: | Referrals are made by review of videos and medical reports in advance of dossier submission. | |
| Travel Requirements: | A preview trip is recommended. Only one parent needs to travel on a 5-7 day trip. Immigration processing is done through Tallinn, Estonia. | |
| Fees: | Fees range with region and a child's age and health status. Agency fee is $5500, foreign fees range from $2500 to $10700 for the adoption of a single child. In case of special needs children, sibling groups or older children, the fees are always reduced. | |
