The longer a child is in an
orphanage, and the older they get, the longer they wait for a
family. Orphans in most foreign countries can only stay at the
orphanage until they are 16-18 years old. The life expectancy of
an orphan who has spent the majority of their life in an orphanage is
only about 23 years of age. Their futures include homelessness,
unemployment, prison, poverty, etc. Their futures are quite
bleak. Older children have until their 16 birthday to be adopted
internationally. After that they are no longer eligible for
international adoption. Many of the children you see listed on
this page are soon to lose the chance to come home to a family who will
love and guide them through life.
Adoption
fees for this program are reduced due to the urgency of finding loving
families for these children before they reach the age of 16.
