TO ENSURE THE GIRLS ELIGIBILITY FOR INTERNATIONAL ADOPTION, THE ADOPTION COURT HEARING MUST OCCUR PRIOR TO YANIKA'S 16TH BIRTHDAY IN JANUARY 2009.  INTERESTED FAMILY MUST SUBMIT DOSSIER TO AGENCY AT LEAST 8-10 MONTHS BEFORE YANIKA'S BIRTHDAY.

The girls lived together with their aunt and mother who both, themselves grew up in orphanages.  The family is very poor and there are no conditions for a child’s normal development there.  Their mother has no interest in raising children.  She is an alcoholic and would be absent from the home for long periods of time.  She displays no interest in the girls.  Their aunt and uncle had been raising the sisters since their mother abandoned them in the spring of 1999.  The girls were happy to come to the orphanage.

Orphanage Staff Recommendation:

If their were a good family, the girl’s adoption would be an ideal option.
