Allar was born Sept. 27, 2000

Allar has a healthy younger brother who has been placed without him to a local family.  Allar was born to a mother who has herpes and may have active eruptions during his birth.

Allar is friendly.  He gets along well with children as well as adults.  He has become more constant with regard to playing games.  He can focus on putting puzzles together for about half an hour.  He also enjoys looking at pictures in books.  He does have difficulty sharing toys.  He think that if he wants it, he should get it right away.

Allar talks a lot.  He uses sentences.  Often his speech is incomprehensible, but he is resolute in conveying his ideas.  If, after three or four times of repetition, the counselor/assistant still doesn’t understand what he’s trying to say, he uses his hands to help convey his ideas.  He is quite creative with his sign language discoveries.  So far, he has not been successful in learning sign language, but in his mind, he can talk quite well (only the counselors are sometimes incapable).

Allar is quite helpful with housekeeping chores for which the counselors are responsible:  he prefers to clean the tables, dust, sweep the floor, etc.  His favorite job, however, is washing the dishes.  He has loved playing with water since he was quite young.

Physically he is an active boy:  he plays ball, rides a bicycle and climbs.  Also, this young man has been healthy during the past few years and seldom has a cold or cough.

Regarding his development, the most noticeable improvements have been in the social and oral areas.  His social development is at a five/six-year-old level, his speech is at the level of a three-year-old and taking care of himself (brushing teeth/combing/washing/dressing) are at a five-year-old level.  Noticeably lacking is development in the cognitive area, where he is at a three-year-old level.  His motor skills are the most improved, being more or less at the proper age level.
